BowlersAI Inc. ("BowlersAI," "we," "us," or "our") operates the BowlersAI mobile application (iOS, with Android coming Q2 2026) and the BowlersAI web portal. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google profile information (name, email, and profile photo) as authorized by you.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the app, including session activity, feature usage, practice sessions, game scores, and bowling statistics. This data helps us improve the app and provide personalized coaching insights.

Device Information: We collect device identifiers, operating system version, app version, and device attestation data (via Apple DeviceCheck and Firebase AppCheck) to ensure the security and integrity of our services.

Video and Audio Data: When you use our video recording features, we capture video footage of your bowling sessions. When you use snapshot markup, we store annotated images. When you use voice score entry, we process audio through on-device speech recognition to convert spoken scores into text.

AI Chat Data: When you interact with our AI coaching assistant, we collect and process your chat messages, questions, and the context of your bowling data that you share during conversations.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our bowling coaching and analysis services
• Process your account registration and manage your subscription
• Deliver AI-powered coaching insights based on your bowling data
• Enable video analysis and snapshot markup features
• Process voice score entries during practice and game sessions
• Facilitate coach-student relationships and shared evaluations
• Send push notifications about your sessions, coaching updates, and account activity
• Process payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the app experience
• Ensure security and prevent fraud through device attestation
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Data Storage and Security

Firebase: Your account data, bowling statistics, session records, evaluations, and AI chat history are stored securely in Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Storage). Firebase provides encryption at rest and in transit.

iCloud Sync: If you have iCloud enabled, your local app data is synced across your Apple devices using SwiftData with CloudKit. This data is governed by Apple's privacy policies and is encrypted end-to-end by Apple.

Stripe: Payment information (credit card numbers, billing details) is processed and stored exclusively by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers. We retain only a Stripe customer identifier and subscription status.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), secure token-based authentication, and device attestation. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase: Authentication, database (Firestore), file storage, push notifications (Cloud Messaging), analytics, App Check, Cloud Functions, and AI services (Vertex AI). See Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Google Sign-In: Optional authentication method. See Google Privacy Policy.
• Stripe: Payment processing, subscription management, and Apple Pay. See Stripe Privacy Policy.
• Apple: iCloud/CloudKit sync, DeviceCheck, App Store distribution, and push notifications (APNs). See Apple Privacy Policy.

5. AI-Powered Features

BowlersAI uses Firebase Vertex AI to power our AI coaching assistant. When you use the AI chat feature:

• Your messages and relevant bowling data are sent to Google's Vertex AI service for processing.
• AI responses are generated based on bowling knowledge curated by USBC certified coaches.
• Chat history is stored in your account to provide context for future conversations.
• AI-generated coaching advice is informational and should not replace professional medical or safety guidance.

Google may process your AI chat data in accordance with their data processing terms. We do not use your chat data to train or improve third-party AI models beyond what is outlined in Google's Vertex AI terms of service.

6. Video and Audio Data

Video Recording: Videos you record within the app are stored in Firebase Storage and synced to your account. You control which videos to record, save, and delete. Videos may be shared with your coach if you are part of a coach-student relationship.

Snapshot Markup: Annotated snapshots from your videos are stored alongside your session data. These markups are private to your account unless shared with a coach.

Voice Score Entry: Speech recognition for score entry is processed on-device using Apple's Speech framework. Audio data is not transmitted to our servers or any third party. The recognized text (your scores) is stored as part of your session data.

7. Coach-Student Data Sharing

BowlersAI supports coach-student relationships where coaches can provide evaluations and guidance:

• Students can connect with coaches through the app using invite codes.
• When connected, coaches may access the student's session data, evaluations, videos, and bowling statistics to provide coaching.
• Coach evaluations and notes are shared with the connected student.
• Either party can end the coach-student relationship at any time, which revokes the coach's access to future data.
• Coaches are responsible for handling student data in accordance with applicable laws and this Privacy Policy.

8. Children's Privacy

BowlersAI is used by bowlers of all ages, including youth bowlers. We are committed to compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.

• Children under 13 may only use BowlersAI with verifiable parental or legal guardian consent.
• Parents or guardians are responsible for creating and managing accounts for children under 13.
• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
• Parents or guardians may review, modify, or request deletion of their child's data by contacting us at partnership@bowlersai.com.
• If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without proper consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Specifically:

• Account data, session history, and bowling statistics are retained until you delete your account.
• Videos and snapshots are retained until you delete them individually or delete your account.
• AI chat history is retained until you clear your chat history or delete your account.
• Payment records may be retained as required by law and Stripe's data retention policies.
• When you delete your account, we initiate deletion of your personal data from our systems within 30 days. Some data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being permanently removed.
• Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you may be retained for analytics purposes.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
• Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data. You can delete your account directly within the app, or contact us for assistance.
• Portability: Request a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used format.
• Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications and non-essential push notifications through your device settings or within the app.
• Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

11. Push Notifications

BowlersAI uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to send push notifications. Notifications may include coaching reminders, session updates, evaluation alerts, and account-related information. You can manage your notification preferences within the app's settings or through your device's system settings at any time.

We store your device push token securely and use it solely for delivering notifications relevant to your account. We do not share your push token with third parties for marketing purposes.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email prior to the changes taking effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when this policy was most recently revised. Your continued use of BowlersAI after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
